How Caylent and BrainBox AI use generative AI
to make buildings more energy-efficient
Caylent helped BrainBox AI use generative AI to convert data from HVAC and other systems into a way to make commercial buildings smarter and greener, automating cooling, heating, and ventilation functions to reduce energy consumption as well as operational costs. ARIA provides a conversational interface for building operations professionals to analyze data and adjust systems. Caylent’s expertise in Amazon Bedrock allowed BrainBox AI to seamlessly adopt new models, shifting from Anthropic Claude Instant and Claude 2.1 to Claude 3 Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus quickly after they were released.

AGRICULTURE
If you dig into the best generative AI use cases all around the world, the intention is not to replace humans, but really rather to give them superpowers.
Food scarcity is one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity, threatening food security, economic stability, and the well-being of millions worldwide. Bayer Crop Science researchers are using generative AI to help farmers make informed, data-driven decisions that increase crop productivity, optimize resource usage, and reduce operational costs. Slalom helped Bayer create the Decision Science Ecosystem, a next-gen ML Ops platform built on AWS that helps researchers and developers use generative AI to collaborate more efficiently, forging exciting new pathways toward their goal of feeding the world.

FOOD SERVICE
Publicis Sapient and AWS are delivering digital business transformation for a leading quick-service restaurant chain, using Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, AWS Clean Rooms, and other technologies to help the customer assess the performance of their advertising campaigns, analyze data from multiple marketing partners, and automate the process of creating personalized marketing offers. Publicis Sapient created two solutions for its customer: one that integrates data from multiple sources while safeguarding personally identifiable information, and another that uses generative AI to automate marketing offers.

How Persistent Systems and Blast Motion use generative AI to elevate athletic performance
AWS has been instrumental in driving our innovative process
as we navigate the
gen AI landscape.
Blast Motion has traditionally used biomechanists, sensors, and video capture for swing analysis, but scaling to millions of athletes was a challenge. Persistent Systems helped Blast Motion leverage generative AI to analyze and present actionable insights in a user-friendly, scalable way to everyday athletes, drawing on sensor data from more than 350 million golf, softball, and baseball swings. By translating data into tailored, human-like recommendations, this approach expanded accessibility beyond elite athletes, supporting players at all skill levels with personalized guidance from youth to pro stages.

How Mission and Employ Inc. use generative AI
to remove bias from job interviews
Building these questions using generative AI now lets you make the playing field level for everyone because it’s about eliminating bias, which
is a really big deal.

HUMAN RESOURCES
Traditional methods for creating interview questions can be inconsistent, time-consuming, and discriminatory. Mission used Amazon Bedrock to develop an AI-powered question generator that removes personal demographics and focuses instead on experience, education, and other relevant considerations, helping Employ Inc. transform its recruitment platform so that recruiters can spend less time coming up with questions and more time interacting with candidates. More than 22,000 companies depend on Employ solutions such as JazzHR, Lever, Jobvite, and NXTThing RPO to assess 600 million candidates for 4 million active jobs.
Raymond Kok, Chief Executive Officer, Mendix
It’s not about
replacing humans.
It’s about efficiency.
MANUFACTURING
Glass manufacturing is a complex process constrained by paper records, spreadsheets, and manual data entry. Generative AI has transformed the manufacturing process at Vivix, a Brazilian manufacturer specializing in float glass, solar protection glass, safety laminated glass, and mirrors. The company fully digitized its production processes with more than 25 apps on the low-code Mendix platform, increasing efficiency and transparency while ensuring that only the highest quality of glass reaches the shelves. The Virtual Engineer has transformed how Vivix handles customer complaints and production issues.

HEALTHCARE
Respiratory diseases often go undetected until it’s too late. Healthmetryx’s innovative Clarinet breathing mask, powered by generative AI on AWS, brings together respiratory data, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices to help surface early signs of lung disease in specific groups, like firefighters. The result: the ability to take proactive measures to protect at-risk individuals and populations. Looking ahead, Healthmetryx is exploring how environmental hazards impact vulnerable populations, including firefighters in Toronto, hospital patients in Brazil, and schoolchildren near mines in South Africa.
Today we have 160,000 consultants in IBM and are supercharging them with 1.6 million digital workers. We refer to this as the science of consulting.

GOVERNMENT
Legacy systems built with decades-old traditional code make it difficult for government agencies to evolve. An aging workforce, minimal documentation, and dependence on batch processing present challenges to shifting towards a more agile, event-driven cloud architecture. IBM Consulting is leading a multiyear initiative to integrate its proprietary tools with AWS generative AI services to modernize some of the government’s traditional systems. IBM Consulting Advantage combines human expertise with pre-built industry and domain-specific assets to help organizations tackle business challenges faster and more efficiently.
Toyota Motors North America sought to enhance its supply chain operations, replacing data silos and manual processes with AWS machine learning and decision intelligence services. Deloitte Consulting LLP is helping Toyota develop innovative solutions like dynamic pricing and parts forecasting that change the game. Toyota identified over 85 supply chain capabilities focused on demand and supply management to achieve their North Star vision. Deloitte used Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, and Amazon Q in Quicksight to reduce manual tasks and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

LAW
Many people cannot afford to hire their own lawyer, putting them at a disadvantage in legal situations. ClearScale helped Newton’s Law create a mobile app powered by generative AI that delivers legal advice in a fast and user-friendly way. The app gives users immediate access to legal insights, tailored to a wide range of cases, in under 30 seconds. Built for high performance, the platform can support up to 250,000 monthly users, with plans to extend its capabilities even further. ClearScale used a combination of AWS services to build a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system to power the Newton’s Law app.

How Weights & Biases
and Leonardo.Ai
use generative AI to
create millions of images
Every day, Leonardo.AI users leverage generative AI to create over 6 million visual assets, either through pre-trained models or by training their own models. As the company rapidly grew, Weights & Biases helped Leonardo.Ai optimize its model training and streamline its development processes, fully migrating its infrastructure to Amazon Web Services over a two-week period. Leonardo.Ai uses Amazon EC2 Inferentia2 instances for low-cost, high-performance generative AI inference, reducing costs by 60 percent while improving its LLM speed up to 35 percent.
